No fair!

I got whammied with a virus that has visited the whole rest of my family during the New Year. That meant I was sticking close to the Homestead and not venturing out further than the porch to take pictures of the Nordic Expedition into the woods beyond the pond. That's ok, since I had gone the other night in deeper snow with snow shoes and then last night with my niece and Jake the dog, I didn't miss much with sunlight guiding the way.
Using the grassy trail before things get dicey on the snow!
I felt so lousy I wasn't interested in getting a better shot than this. I also missed out on sledding today but will live to see another day!

Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween and with costumes and hats by Nana we
are ready for the annual parade to the Fire Department.
Hey, cat! I think that hat taller than you!

It's a great Halloween with the fangs in your goodie bag match your costume!

Girls Day Out!

It was a long and rewarding shopping day for me, my sister-in-law, my niece and her two grandmothers....and we refreshed ourselves for the ride home with an ice cream treat. Though we have shopped with one another and with as many as four of us together at the same time, we think this is the first time that just the five us have been on our own. We got some great bargains and hope to repeat the experience at some point again...preferably after we've built up our bank accounts again!

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Yesterday I made the tomato soup cake. This morning it was iced.
This afternoon when the pastry chefs arrived it was decorated.
It was a slight surprise that Luke took such and interest in decorating Nana's cake....
but once I figured out he enjoyed eating the flowers it all made sense!
"The cake was a little heavy, but the candles made it light!"
Happy Birthday, Nana!

Happy to help you with a little extra hot air!

All this celebrating can make a guy dog tired.
